Our mission

Valentina and Voces del Sur was formed by Chilean singer Valentina Montoya Martínez and Scottish guitarist David A Russell. Valentina, an historian by training, is also a songwriter with a passion for Latin American folk music and tango. Her aim is to disseminate folk traditions from her native Chile and Latin America and to tell the stories of her people through her own voice, songwriting, and fiction.
