    Valentina has two of her poems published in this bilingual poetry collection, published in London, by Victorina Press, 2017. Desentrañando Memorias (Unravelling Memories) is a bilingual anthology of poetry, published by Victorina Press in 2017. Written by Latin American/Hispanic authors resident in the UK, this book features two of Valentina’s poems, ‘La partida’ (The Departure) and ‘Canto a la memoria’ (Song to Memory). The first poem is a poetic account of Valentina’s early arrival in the UK with broader fragments of exile, whilst the second whilst the second is an ode to collective memory (focusing on Chile’s recent history).

    Valentina’s short story, La Chascona y sus cuerdas, was published by Victorina Press in a bilingual anthology of short stories, in London. The book is a celebration of the centenary of Chilean multi-faceted artist, Violeta Parra, and includes nine stories by Latin American and Hispanic authors based in the UK. Valentina’s story is a synthesis of Violeta Parra’s life, told in the traditional genere of lírica popular chilena, as the narrator plays homage to her guitar, which she has named ‘La Chascona’ which loosely translated means, the one with the untidy hair.
